Replacement render to a 19th Century clay lump house, West Suffolk.
The original brief for this project was to apply a smooth render to the exterior of the house. However whilst preparing the surface the original design was uncovered under layers of old paint on the gable end.
The owners then decided to replicate the unique comb design. This was done using ALC's Haired Chalk mix directly onto the clay lump.
